Winter in Vegas

Well, the weather has been a little fickle lately. For about 2 weeks the days were beautiful, warm and sunny, temps in the 70's with a couple of days in the low 80's. Then Mother Nature said, OMG, it's November in Nevada too. So, she threw some colder, windier weather at us. Last weekend, for example. LeRoy and I took a short trip to Laughlin for 2 nights and left the dogs here at home with plenty of food and water, access to the outdoors throught the doggie door and plenty of warmth. No problem, right? NOT! We got a call Saturday night just after dinner and I didn't recognize the number on caller ID. Almost didn't answer, but something told me I better. Of course, it was someone in our neighborhood letting me know they had found a dog with this phone number on her collar. KIKI! The little booger had somehow gotten out of the electrified yard and the only reason was Mother Nature's fault. Change in the weather here is usually accompanied with strong winds, and sometimes rain. This time it was both and Kiki panicked, jumped across the charged fence and dug out. She's so panicked when she does this that she can't figure out where she is, or how to get home. Thankfully, people here are very pet oriented, they took her in, gave her a bath, made the call and helped and old lady dog. I called Dale (my aunt) and she went and picked her up and took her home for a sleep over. All turned out well, and the fence got adjusted, again, to keep the escapee in. Only happens when the weather turns.
We decided that the next time we go for an overnight trip, Kiki will be staying in the garage. I dare her to dig out of there!
Other than that adventure, there has not been too much excitement for us. Going to work, bowling on Tuesday's and a movie occasionally. Just saw UNSTOPPABLE yesterday. Good flick. We had dinner with Dale at the Suncoast Cafe and a movie then home. Leroy has to Work today, but I'm off for the entire weekend. No Black Friday shopping for me. Just trying to stay warm. Temps have been in the 50's for highs and in the upper 30's for lows. Thank-you Mother Nature!
Take care All. We will be in Ohio for the holidays.
Kaye and LeRoy
