No pictures today just news of local interest. Didn't have to be to work till 8 this morning and left about 4. Tomorrow is another story, arrival 6 but off at 2:30. I like that better. Did a few scopes then went to do audits for pharmacy and anesthesia upstairs. Pretty boring.
It did rain this morning, if you want to call 10 drops a rain. Created a rainbow just off the patio that was spectacular. We could use some more rain, lots more than 10 drops. It hasn't really rained since March and, after all it is monsoon season.

The temp. was good today, only 106 and low of 94. Very tolerable.

Good thing, Kiki is still spending days on the patio after LeRoy goes to work. The voice on the alarm system makes her think someone she doesn't know is in the house, so she stays out there. Can you say GOOFY!

Anyway, mac & cheese for dinner and probably some knitting before bed, which will be around 8. Living large in Vegas baby. Later

Spending time learning

Hey, I've been spending the last 2 hours trying to get the pics from my camera to my computer. Man, you would think it was rocket science!

Anyway, my new puter doesn't have a memory card slot, guess the guys at the shop didn't think I needed one. Well, in the last few minutes I found I don't need one cause the printer has a memory slot on it. Now the pics are on and I'm going to try to post a few. Wish me luck!

I did it! This is a pic of the sunset off our patio a couple of weeks ago. Also a pic of the cactus on the from porch that bloomed a few weeks ago. There were about 12 flowers that opened up and the were just beautiful.
Not much going today. Going to grill steak, if it's not too hot on the patio. It's kinda like trying to grill in the Winter. You run out, light the grill, run back etc, etc. Anyway, it's better than shoveling the snow off the grill or chasing the wasps out in the Spring. BTW, haven't seen a wasp here since we moved and only a couple of flies. Can leave the doors open if we want.
Hope you have a good day. Later

Another hot weekend

Having had a rough week at work, I took today to go to knitting group and took Dale (my aunt) out to Carraba's for lunch. Very good. Came home early and took a little nap, then to Rampart Casino for dinner in the cafe. The waitress didn't get a tip, all she could do was complain about how busy she was, apparently too busy to provide service to us. Then off to Red Rock Casino for a bit of fun, no winning, as usual, and home by 10:30.
Man, it's an exciting life, don't you agree.

Working on getting some pictures posted, Stay tuned. Later

Joining the 21st century

Ok, now I've done it and it's all my brother's fault. He had to move to Alaska and get communicating with us in this way and now he's got me doing it too. I guess I'm going to have to adapt sometime.
Anyway, life in Vegas is much less strenuous than Alaska, it's only hot here. No bears, few bugs, and the river doesn't change depths.
I am loving living here. No shoveling snow, swatting mosquitoes and no humidity. It may be 110 but "it's a dry heat". Yeah, right, it's still hot and you must be aware of dehydration at all times. Happens before you know it cause you don't sweat.
Work is good, up and down, one day 15 cases and the next 48, as happened this week. Of course the 48 case day was my late day to work, so I had to finish things up, but wasn't too bad. Got done shortly after 5pm. Started at 6am. Still, I was exhausted. Getting to old to work that hard. And my room was all kids, 8 of them and the oldest was 5. You wouldn't believe the poor dental hygiene of kids out here. Have to put them to sleep to repair teeth. Two of them had every tooth worked on. And of the 8 kids, only 3 spoke English, the others Spanish only. Hard to communicate with a 2 year old that doesn't know you or understand what you're saying.
Enough of that.
Kiki and Marty are doing great. Kiki stays outside when we leave, cause the alarm system announces vocally when it is set, guess she thinks someone is in the house that doesn't belong there, but she can't find them, so she stays on the patio. What an idiot! Marty still has allergies and gets a shot about every 8 weeks just to keep him from itching his skin off, hasn't caused any weight loss. Still looks like an elephant standing on toothpicks.
Leroy loves his job. Working maintenance at a gated community where he started as security, but now is full time. He thinks he will be going todays, instead of noon to 8:30, soon. That will be good, since I don't see him most of the week. I'm in bed before he gets home, and gone before he gets up. On days, he will be up before me and gone just before I leave, but then evenings will be home together. Oh, no! That means I'll have to start cooking dinner. I usually just have cereal or something simple.
Ok, enough for now, I'll try to figure out how to post pictures at some point soon. Love you all, and if you come to Vegas you better let us know.
