Ok, now I've done it and it's all my brother's fault. He had to move to Alaska and get communicating with us in this way and now he's got me doing it too. I guess I'm going to have to adapt sometime.
Anyway, life in Vegas is much less strenuous than Alaska, it's only hot here. No bears, few bugs, and the river doesn't change depths.
I am loving living here. No shoveling snow, swatting mosquitoes and no humidity. It may be 110 but "it's a dry heat". Yeah, right, it's still hot and you must be aware of dehydration at all times. Happens before you know it cause you don't sweat.
Work is good, up and down, one day 15 cases and the next 48, as happened this week. Of course the 48 case day was my late day to work, so I had to finish things up, but wasn't too bad. Got done shortly after 5pm. Started at 6am. Still, I was exhausted. Getting to old to work that hard. And my room was all kids, 8 of them and the oldest was 5. You wouldn't believe the poor dental hygiene of kids out here. Have to put them to sleep to repair teeth. Two of them had every tooth worked on. And of the 8 kids, only 3 spoke English, the others Spanish only. Hard to communicate with a 2 year old that doesn't know you or understand what you're saying.
Enough of that.
Kiki and Marty are doing great. Kiki stays outside when we leave, cause the alarm system announces vocally when it is set, guess she thinks someone is in the house that doesn't belong there, but she can't find them, so she stays on the patio. What an idiot! Marty still has allergies and gets a shot about every 8 weeks just to keep him from itching his skin off, hasn't caused any weight loss. Still looks like an elephant standing on toothpicks.
Leroy loves his job. Working maintenance at a gated community where he started as security, but now is full time. He thinks he will be going todays, instead of noon to 8:30, soon. That will be good, since I don't see him most of the week. I'm in bed before he gets home, and gone before he gets up. On days, he will be up before me and gone just before I leave, but then evenings will be home together. Oh, no! That means I'll have to start cooking dinner. I usually just have cereal or something simple.
Ok, enough for now, I'll try to figure out how to post pictures at some point soon. Love you all, and if you come to Vegas you better let us know.
