Well Fall weather is coming to the valley finally. A cool down predicted for next week will take the temps into the 70's for high and 50's for lows.. Guess a light jacket will be required and the AC will get turned off for a bit. A few weeks ago we went to Mt. Charleston and took the dogs with us for a hike. When we left home the temp was 95 and at the top it was 75. Nice change! The image above is one of the views we saw up there. We wanted to hike to a water fall but Kiki didn't take the hike too well. She fell about half way there 2 times and I said that was far enough. We turned around and came back down. I think Mary was disappointed, he seemed full of energy till on the way home. He slept all the way and most of the day after. He's pretty fat and more out of shape than he thinks.
On the way back down, we came around the backside of the mountain, we stopped at a viewing area and took a pic of a dry lake bed off in the distance, beautiful view and the pic doesn't do it justice. It's the one on the left at the top.
Since then life has been pretty much routine and LeRoy's lip has healed just fine. Not even a scar. Work has been slow and I have had at least one day a week off. We only do scheduled surgeries, nothing emergency, and with the economy the way it is elective surgeries have been put on the back burner for most people. It really hurts the pocket book.
I have been knitting, of course. Have knitted 7 shoulderettes and am working on #8. Most of them will be trying to find space in my suitcase for a trip to Ohio over the holidays. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone.
Two of those are mine. I wear them all the time. Nice for movies and casinos where it gets kinda cool.

I have plans to make a different kind of shawl for my boss for Christmas. I really like her and need to get started on that since it's something I have never tried before and mistakes will be forthcoming, I'm sure.
Dale (my aunt) and I spend every Saturday together. Knit club, then lunch with Mamie and then usually off to bingo somewhere in the valley. Sometimes we're lucky, sometimes we're not. Lots more fun when we are.
The other night LeRoy worked late and didn't get home till around 9. We were both so tired we went to bed around 10 and just as I was getting into that half sleep mode he jumped out of bed like his feet were on fire. Well, I thought someone was breaking into the house but he said "I left the water on at work filling the pool. I gotta go". Like a chicken with it's head cut off he was dressed and out the door. Two secondes later he was back (forgot his glasses) and out the door again. I heard the garage door come up, his car backed out and he was gone. Thirty minutes he was back and said the pool was definitely full, but not quite overflowing. He doesn't think his boss needs to know how long the water was on or what time it got turned off. Just that he was busy. Too funny, but I about peed when he jumped out of bed so fast.
Well, that's about it for this week. We found a really good steak house Saturday evening and will go there again, I'm sure. Montana Steakhouse. If you come to Vegas, be sure to give it a try. Talk to all soon. Thanks for following us. Love you. Kaye
